Vaibhav Global Limited (VGL), incorporated in 1989 is a professionally managed Electronic Retailer of Jewelry and Lifestyle Products with operations in seven countries. VGL is a publicly listed company on Indian stock exchanges (both BSE and NSE) and has private equity investment from well-known PE investors. The company has a group turnover of approx. Rs. 2,500 Crore (FY 2020-2021) and employs over 4000 people globally. VGL has its head office as well as its main manufacturing facility in Jaipur, India, which employs approx. 3000 people, including contract workers. The company owns TV shopping channels and robust ECom businesses in UK (www.tjc.co.uk) and USA (www.shoplc.com). Both retail units broadcast 24/7 live programming to over 100 Million homes through cable, satellite and telcos. They are also streaming via Web and smart TV’s. Our 100k sq. ft factory in Jaipur is Leeds certified Platinum level green building. We generate 100% of our India energy needs from solar panels. Role Intro- Data Analyst
We are looking for an experienced and result-driven Data Analyst to join our dedicated Corporate IT team!

Your Key Responsibilities
Our Data Analysts are expected to explore data, technologies, and the application of mathematical techniques to enable business insights. Data analysts accomplish this through a wide variety of skills including but not limited to data wrangling, reporting, dashboarding, visualization, statistical analysis, modeling, and the presentation of recommendations and insight. Analysts will work within an agile environment, which requires active participation in ceremonies to accomplish the team’s goals. They also develop domain knowledge as they learn about their business area and support applying key data management principles like metadata management, data profiling, and documenting their data lineage.

Responsibilities:

⦁ Actively exploring data for specific use cases
⦁ Expertise in business domain and processes
⦁ Creating measurable insights from the data to be shared
⦁ Developing metrics, measurement strategy, reports, and statistics
⦁ Documenting calculations, code, and adhering to data management principles
⦁ Validating and testing data assets of others in the form of peer review
⦁ Exploring statistical analysis that could be applied to the data
⦁ Performing descriptive statistics including mean, variance, median, correlation
⦁ Applies insights and testing in partnership with business users
⦁ Active participant in team meetings
⦁ Lead agile ceremonies
⦁ Ability to work independently to turn business problems into data solutions
⦁ Serve as a thought leader and mentor on business domain and analytical techniques to elevate team performance
About You:
⦁ BA/BS or equivalent experience; MA/MS preferred
⦁ 5+ years work experience in data analysis or masters level education in business analytics, data science, etc.
⦁ Strong knowledge of data, reporting, and analytics
⦁ Proficient with various programming languages- SQL, R, Python
⦁ Stays current with new and evolving technologies via formal training and self-directed education

Desired Requirements:
⦁ Strong Retail domain specific knowledge and processes
⦁ Prior experience in retail analytics industry
⦁ Programming: SQL, R/Python
⦁ Math and/or Statistics:
         ⦁ Mathematical logic (AND, OR, NOT)
         ⦁ Descriptive and Inferential Statistics
⦁ Testing and Research Design:
         ⦁ Apply the scientific method and experimental design
         ⦁ Generate insight from observational data
